12 Dates Through Aug 29, 2020

ABOUT ABOUT

Join Chef Sam Mischenko as he takes your taste buds on a transatlantic tour of historic proportions!

Libations and oral histories await; as the stories of the foods we know and love intertwine with the cultures of the world we share. Bring your passport as we venture through four locations, looking through the lense of history, with a dash of Chef's perspective and personal travels.

July 16, 17, 18 -Our first destination will be Oaxaca, Mexico- home to the Seven Molés. In this 5-course dinner we will explore the impact that Spanish exploration and globalization have had on Mexico's indigenous populations and food culture. We will also discuss the ways in which the foods of Mexico influenced Spain and later, the United States.

July 30, 31, August 1 -Our second stop will be a 6-course dinner from Barcelona, Spain- home to Jamón, Cava, and Gaudi. Barcelona was the first city in Europe to experience the flavor of chocolate. The largest city in the state of Catalonia, it was the city that started the Age of Exploration for western civilization and funded the voyages that opened the world to new trade routes and tastes.

August 13, 14, 15 -Our third port of call will be a 5-course dinner from New Orleans, Louisiana- home to the birthplace of jazz. New Orleans sits strategically at the mouth of the Mississippi river and as the Americas became populated by European settlers, would become one of the most important cities in the nation. Beginning as a Spanish territory, it became part of the French empire and was sculpted into the city it is now. The food and culture here have become so quintessentially American that it cannot be ignored.

August 27, 28, 29 -Our fourth and final destination will be a 5-course dinner exploring the ‘Hills of Home’- the Ohio River Valley. Nestled at the edge of Appalachia and spreading west to the Mississippi, this part of the country is where we call home. Bourbon and lamb, beer and pork, this area is steeped in a rich food history that never fails to satisfy the heart and stomach.

Join us this July and August for a discourse on multiple courses as we discuss all those things you're supposed to avoid at the dinner table. Come with an open mind, a couple of friends, and an appetite for some wonderful food and drinks. Postcards from a Chef will certainly be something worth writing home to Mom about as we transform Lonely Pine Steakhouse into your new supperclub destination.

Your ticket prices include gratuity.
